Prof. Dr. Alexandre Lapillonne
is Professor of Pediatrics at Paris Descartes University and Head of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Necker–Enfants Malades Hospital in Paris, where he also serves as Medical Director of the Department of Congenital Malformations and Developmental Diseases. He is Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at the Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, USA. A board-certified pediatrician, nutritionist, and neonatologist, his research activities focus on preterm infant nutrition and rare diseases. He has held multiple leadership positions within major European scientific societies, including his long-standing faculty membership in the European Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ESPEN) and the Committee on Nutrition of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN). Currently he serves as the President of the Committee on Nutrition of the French Pediatric Society. Furthermore, Prof. Lapillonne acts as an expert for national and global authorities, including the FAO/Codex Alimentarius. He has authored more than 270 peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in medical nutrition research, education, and guideline development.
